Breaking Ground on Hope: Elizabeth Houses #2 and #3 Begin
On August 3, the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood celebrated the groundbreaking of Elizabeth Houses #2 and #3 in Juja, Kenya. This milestone marks another step toward creating sustainable funding that will support our ministries for generations to come.

The day began as Sister Tekla, Superior of the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood in East Africa, officially signed the construction contract alongside the architect, contractor, and site manager, Lenox, who will oversee the project from start to finish.
Elizabeth House #1 has already demonstrated the power of sustainable ministry. After only four months of full occupancy, rental income is helping support 20 young adults aging out of Star of Hope Orphanage as they continue their education at universities and trade schools. The success of the first building gave us the confidence to take this next leap of faith.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together the sisters, children from Star of Hope Orphanage, the construction team, and community members. Following a blessing of the land and prayers of thanksgiving, everyone eagerly participated in the first shovel of dirt—symbolizing the beginning of another project that will bring hope and opportunity to countless lives.
Building Elizabeth Houses #2 and #3 at the same time will reduce construction costs while creating long-term revenue to support African Ministry Fund's education programs, microfinance initiatives, and the Magdalen Street Women Project.
We are grateful for everyone who has made this moment possible through your prayers, encouragement, and generosity. We look forward to sharing construction updates as these buildings rise from the ground and continue transforming lives across Kenya.

And finally...we couldn't end without sharing one of our favorite moments of the day! Sr. Mary Paul was ready to jump into the excavator and help dig the foundation herself. Her joyful spirit perfectly captured the excitement everyone felt as this new chapter began.
