The African Ministry Fund was founded in 2024 by Sr. Antoinette Temporiti of the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood of O'Fallon, MO and Sr. Mary Paul Wamatu of the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood in Kenya. It is proudly supported by the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood under the 501 (c) (3) of St. Mary's Institute.
The Dreamers

As a child, Sister Toni would ask her mother why she was so blessed when other children were orphaned and poor. Her mother’s response, “so that you can share your abundance with others.”
Today, Sister Toni Temporiti, a dedicated Sister of the Most Precious Blood from St. Louis, brings a rich background in theology, social work and a doctorate to her passion to help others. Always searching to answer her childhood question, she began Microfinancing Partners in Africa. Retiring from that venture, she co-founded a new non-profit, African Ministry Fund in 2024 with Sister Mary Paul Wamatu. Their inspiring first project helps the Star of Hope Orphanage support children from infancy into adulthood with a future full of hope.

Sr. Mary Paul Wamatu is a Missionary Sister of the Most Precious Blood and a native of Kenya. She was born into a family of eighteen children. As a religious sister, Mary Paul taught in several schools run by the Sisters and served her community in leadership roles at both the local and global levels. Her ministry has taken her to Riruta, Kenya; Rome, Italy; and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Deeply dedicated to serving the poorest and most neglected people in Africa, Sr. Mary Paul is a gifted teacher who instructs adults in a style that both inspires and informs. She is especially passionate about empowering people through microfinancing principles, helping small groups build sustainable paths out of poverty. She has been instrumental in establishing Star of Hope Children’s Home for orphans in Juja, Kenya, and Amani School for street children living in the slums across from her provincial house in Riruta, Kenya.
