Visit at Star of Hope and Ellizabeth House construction

Updated: Jan 15

I left for a short but wonderful trip to Kenya on Oct. 10, 2025, and returned on Oct. 22. Visiting the children at Star of Hope Orphanage is one of my favorite things to do. Many donors gave me items to share with the kids, such as flip-flops, backpacks, pens and pencils. The children were so excited. Faith, a 12-year-old girl at the orphanage, had a wonderful welcoming speech. A highlight of the day was to meet and hold the youngest child at the orphanage, six-month-old Maria Goretti. Brought to the orphanage one-day-old, Baby Maria has been a center of care and attention. I was happy to also meet two former residents of Star of Hope, Gilbert and Rose who have both gradutated from University and now help out at the Orphanage.  Their success gives me hope for the success of the St. Michael Project which will assist Star of Hope in supporting and mentoring the young adults who age out of the home at age 18.
