Stronger Together: The Precious Blood Community Group

In May 2025, a group of individuals in Kilungu came together with a shared mission: to uplift one another and create a stronger, more sustainable future for their families and community. What began as a modest initiative has quickly grown into a powerful example of how collective effort, discipline, and trust can transform lives.

A Vision Rooted in Unity

The Precious Blood Community Group was founded under the guidance of the Precious Blood Sisters, with Sr. AnnaCletus serving as patron and Sr. Mary Paul Wamatu as chairperson. Originally formed with 28 members, the group now consists of 21 committed individuals who remain dedicated to the founding vision: leaving no one behind and progressing together.

From the start, the group established a clear structure. Each member contributed a registration fee and committed to monthly savings. These pooled funds are then loaned out to members, creating a cycle of investment and growth within the group. With a 10% interest return over three months, the model not only supports individual needs but also strengthens the group’s overall financial base.

From Small Savings to Meaningful Growth

The results speak for themselves. What started with a capital of just over 27,000 Kshs has grown to more than 134,000 Kshs in circulation—a remarkable achievement in less than a year.

But the real impact goes beyond the numbers.

Members are using these loans to fund projects that directly improve their lives—whether through agriculture, small businesses, or meeting essential needs like education and housing. Each investment, no matter how small, represents a step forward.

Real People, Real Progress

Across the group, members are turning opportunity into action:

  • Several individuals have launched poultry projects, growing from just a handful of chickens to thriving flocks that now produce eggs and income.

  • Others have invested in agriculture, cultivating vegetables and fruits to feed their families and sell in local markets.

  • Some have used loans to pay school fees, ensuring their children can continue their education without interruption.

  • A few members are still saving and planning, carefully preparing for larger projects in the future.

There are also inspiring stories of growth and persistence—members expanding brick-making businesses, improving housing conditions, and steadily building toward financial independence.

Each journey is different, but the common thread is progress.

More Than Money: A Community of Support

While financial growth is important, the heart of the group lies in its sense of community. Members support one another not only through loans, but through encouragement, shared learning, and accountability.

There is a deep emphasis on values—unity, respect, love, and trust. Members gather not just to manage finances, but to strengthen relationships and build a sense of belonging. Their shared commitment creates an environment where everyone feels supported and motivated to succeed.

Looking Ahead

The Precious Blood Community Group is still in its early stages, but its trajectory is clear. With strong leadership, disciplined financial practices, and a deep sense of purpose, the group is well-positioned for continued growth.

Members are already thinking bigger—expanding existing projects, launching new ventures, and creating more stable futures for their families. Their story is a powerful reminder that sustainable change doesn’t happen overnight—it is built step by step, through consistency, collaboration, and belief in a shared vision.

What started as a small group in Kilungu is now something much more: a community creating opportunity, one member at a time.
