St. Michael Project

Naomi Leparkiras , now 20 years old, was rescued along with her son Victor by Star of Hope Children’s Hope when Naomi was a teenager. According to the government system, Naomi should be on her own as orphaned children age out of child care at age 18.   However, Star of Hope supports Naomi and is happy that she has just finished Form 3 (equivalent to being a junior in high school). Before coming to SOH, Naomi lived in a culture that did not value education and did not go to school. Naomi is very determined, responsible and focuses on her studies.  Her four-year-old son, Victor, is a very happy child. He likes playing and running a lot. He is now in kindergarten and when he turns 6 he will begin first grade.

Through the St. Michael Project, designed to help Star of Hope children over 18, Naomi will have the opportunity to finish high school and learn a trade so that she will be able to support herself and her child in the future.
